Nate Adams Wins the 5th Stop of the Red Bull xfighters and takes the tour championship at the same time.
The British weather held off and allowed the event go on in excellent conditions infront of 18,000 fans. Adams consistency has enabled him to take the title this year from an off form Mat rebeaud. Mat crashed out falling sort and over rotating on a 120ft gap, although apparently he is ok, he was lucky to only suffer from a few stiches. His pride is slightly dented and his season has fallen well short of his previous efforts.
One to watch out for next year is definately youngster Levi Sherwood from New Zealand who approached the event with great maturity. Although he did not have as many tricks as his older competitors in the finals his style helped him to progress. Dany Torres has also improved from event to event and we are tipping him at Hardcloud to be pushing the older boys next year.

Good morning apolgies for the delay in this latest post. We have been manic here at Hardcloud. With all the new stock arriving for fall. The Animal Clothing, Hurley, WESC, Volcom, DC shoes & plenty more has been restocking our warehouse for those cooler evenings in August and September.
So I am gutted told all my mates to get tickets for the Red Bull Xfighters 2009 in Battersea London, they did and I forget to get one. Now they are all sold out. So looks like I am watching it on www.freecaster.tv. Online. Enjoy this little sneak preview of what to expect in London this Saturday evening.

This years xfighters has been a hotly contested series as it always is. With a few controversal results along the way. The top 4 can still all win the event, last years winner Rebeaud has a lot to do and I have to say the consitent Ego Sato and DC shoe co rider Robbie Maddison have been flying. Can Nate Adams nail this years season. Personally I have to say I would like to see a none American win the event – I am going for the underdog. Ego Sato.

I have been reading a great deal recently about a number of key action sports participants who all call the UK home are under 20 but are dominating in their sports across the planet.
This first post looks at UK Number 1 pro wakeboarder Nick Davies. With posts to follow on riders like kiteboarder Arron Hadlow, Surfer Tom Lowe and skateboarder Geoff Rowley (is perhaps a little older….but you get the drift) plus others in BMX, FMX the list goes on.

Nick Davies at only 19 has been hailed as the best cable wakeboarder on the planet. Nick like the other professionals mentioned above appears not only to be good but has a natural talent for the sport. The ‘at one’ feeling with his equipment….. Does this come from riding at an early age, 100% dedication & hard work or genetics. Perhaps its a bit of all of these.
Having learnt the tricks of the trade at JB waterski and Princes in the uk. Nick is now fully sponsored (oneill wetsuits) has his own signature board and is probably one of the first UK riders to have his own signature board in a US dominated market/field. Nick spends most of his life travelling around the globe promoting wakeboarding and entering events, and if you win the money is pretty good too.
It is so refreshing to think that in a seriously competitive world, our tiny island is still producing some amazing sporting talents….. Nick Davies has not only shown he is good but proved it by winning the cable worlds this year and has his set sites on what he can achieve on the boat circuit too.
